Getting a Nature + subscription was one of the best decisions we made this year. For £15 a month we get access to a large number of high quality journals, including great summaries/comments published in Nature Reviews Drug Discovery (NRDD) covering hot topics in the drug development space.
I have been reading a lot this year on the pricing and cost of developing drugs, a popular theme given the Inflation Reduction Act, and the ongoing pressures health systems around the world are facing.
An editorial comment from NRDD led me to a JAMA Open article from Sertkaya et al. (Link) who developed a new estimate for the cost of developing a drug, that comes in nearly a third lower than the most commonly used estimate (from Di Masi et al. Link).
